Cigar box instruments have been around since the Civil War.
Now you can own a unique style of mandolin - a Smokin' Mandolin - made from genuine
cigar boxes. People are simply amazed that an instrument can be made from cigar boxes
and sound as good as they do. I now also make cigar box guitars and dulcitars (cross between
a dulcimer and guitar).
I no longer display my cigar box instruments at Works of Art - unfortunately Works of Art closed its doors in
October of 2009. I attend the Downtown Art Walk the first Wednesday of the month in Hemming Plaza in Jacksonville, Florida. Stop by for a shake and howdy, and try out some of my instruments!
